Dental Practice Management Level 4

The Dental Practice Manager Apprenticeship is an 18-24 month, government funded course aimed towards middle level managers.
The qualification is comprised of 3 main components:
 
  • The Level 4 ILM Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • Portfolio of workplace activity
  • End Point Assessment – consisting on a synoptic project and interview
 
Candidates must be employed as a dental practice manager before enrolling onto this course and must hold Maths and English qualifications at a Grade C or above or Functional skills Level 2. This qualification was created by the dental Trailblazer group and is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management. The majority of the course will be delivered in the classroom at HO, on a fortnightly/monthly basis, with regular visits to practice, by your assessor who will carry out, observations and regular progress reviews. 
 
You will be fully supported by your Smart Dental Academy tutor and assessor throughout the course. You must also be supported by a mentor in the practice (your line manager) who will be responsible for undertaking regular reviews with you to support learner progress.

Who should attend?

•This course is suitable for candidates employed as a dental practice manager for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
•You must have regular access to a computer or laptop, in order to access your online portfolio and produce evidence.

Whilst you are entitled to complete a certain amount of work, during working hours, under “off the job” ruling, you would also be expected to carry out research and complete assignments in your own time, this is something I feel you must be prepared for, before entering into this apprenticeship.
